TANTALUM
Tantalum (Ta) is like molybdenum and tungsten
a refractory metal that offers a valuable combination of properties. The density is 16,6 g/cm³ and the melting point is 2996°C. Tantalum´s corrosion resistance is unusually good in most combinations of acids. Tantalum can be worked easily at room temperature and the thermal conductivity is very high. These unique properties have made it essential to certain applications, making it well worth the high cost. Tantalum is used for making electronic components, nuclear reactors, chemical equipment, semiconductors, heat exchangers and for radiation shielding.

Edstraco supplies tantalum and tantalum alloys in the following shapes:
  • Semi-finished items: tantalum foil, tantalum sheets, tantalum round bars, tantalum wire
  • Finished items: tantalum pipes, tantalum tubes, tantalum fasteners
  • Custom made items: tantalum flanges, protection tubes, radar antennas etc
