TUNGSTEN
Tungsten (W) has the highest meltingpoint of all metals (3410°C) and maintains best it´s mechanical strength at higher temperatures. The density is 19,3 g/cm³. Only osmium, iridium, platinum and rhenium have higher density amongst the metals. Tungsten has a coefficient of expansion equal to that for hard glass and is therefore suitable for use in glass-to-metal seals. Tungsten is used for filaments in the lamp industry and in welding electrodes like TIG. Tungsten is also used in alloys with copper for spark erosion electrodes an in alloys with Ni/Cu or Ni/Fe (heavy metals). Tungsten is very tricky to machine. This fact is one of the reasons why the demand for tungsten alloys is increasing.

Edstraco supplies tungsten sheets, tungsten plates, tungsten wire, tungsten bars, tungsten rods, tungsten foils, tungsten pipes, tungsten sleeves, tungsten bushings, tungsten electrodes, tungsten contacts, tungsten alloys, tungsten boats, tungsten spirals and of course tungsten custom made items.
